For individuals with artistic talent who are considering a career in the arts, Alabama is home to four major universities, as well as liberal arts and community colleges, that all have Art Departments offering majors in commercial and fine arts. The University Of Alabama Department Of Art, located in Tuscaloosa, is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, as is the University of Alabama-Birmingham. The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa is also accredited by the Council for Interior Design, as are Samford University and Auburn University. Alabama students can pursue arts degrees in design, architecture and technical arts at Alabama’s independent technical schools as well.

Alabama offers a combination of small, charming towns and bustling urban areas. Students can choose between study at urban universities or small-town liberal arts colleges. Alabama hosts the Birmingham Museum Of Art, the Alabama Theatre and the annual Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Smaller communities are home to galleries of Native American, African America and Folk Art, reflecting the region’s rich heritage.

Students attending the University of Alabama in Birmingham, for example, participate in internships and a program that draws on the creative resources of Alabama’s largest city, working with local museums and galleries. The Art Department offers concentrations in ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, printmaking, culture, time based media, art history and art education.

Children especially those aged seven to ten are prone to curiosity. This particular trait can often bring them accidents. They are so enthralled with new things that they tend to discover them without their parent’s permission. That is why parents most of the time are worried for their children especially when they know that they cannot be always stay by their side. Their worry is actually added with the fact that children are not exempted to crimes. Even schools can be grounds for such crimes as abduction, rape and molestation. Thus, all that a parent can do is to prepare his child with the real world.

Most of the time parents instruct their child certain things that will assure that they will not end up with the wrong hands. Common instructions include Don’t talk to Strangers and so on. Although this has been proven to be effective, criminals are now becoming aggressive too so that precaution must also be advanced for that matter.

On top of the option for parents is enrolling their children after school martial arts training. These are already common arrangements nowadays. Parents will pick up their kids after school and deliver them to martial arts schools. After an hour or so (depending on the schedule), their children will be picked up again. This is a suitable setup for kids who are serious with their studies but very active in other activities too. For parents, this is their way of keeping their children away from bad company. Instead of letting them sit in front of the television, they can let them have fun in a learning manner too.
